The idea for FreshLeaf bubbled beneath the surface long before its debut in 2019. Jennifer Andrews—a scientist by training, marketer by profession—created the company after noticing that small scientific businesses consistently faced the same problem: how to market their brands effectively with a limited (or non-existent) hiring budget and the lack of time, knowledge, and skills to do it themselves.
Based in Guelph, Ontario, FreshLeaf is a small but growing company serving business-to-business (B2B) clients of all sizes and stages, from start-ups to small and medium-sized enterprises.
We built what we didn’t see in the market so that health, wellness, and life science businesses can continue to innovate and change the world for the better.
As Founder and Chief Marketing Strategist at FreshLeaf, Jennifer brings 10 years of experience in marketing and communications in the life sciences. She received a B.Sc. in biology and M.Sc. in nutrition from the University of Guelph before working in regulatory, then later as Marketing Director, for a scientific consulting company. More recently, she earned an MBA from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.
A self-described nerd with an insatiable creative streak, Jennifer is passionate about marketing because it brings together arts and science to achieve results. To date, she has worked with brands in the natural health, food, research, and healthcare sectors. Jennifer also serves as a business mentor and industry expert (marketing and strategy) with Innovation Guelph, an accelerator for life science and agri-innovation companies across Southern Ontario.
Her favourite part about working with clients isn’t the ego boost that comes from a job well done – it’s seeing other businesses achieve what they set out to do in a better way than they imagined possible.
